5. No permission to cary own water to the venue... We do not want to open every bottle and stick our noses in it to see if you really carry only water. Also we do not want to touch something that you will put in your mouth later. Also we do not like to pick the garbage you left behind you by throwing empty bottles to the ground. We like our festival clean, and we are sure you will understand it. We sold water at the Hell´s kitchen shop for fair price. We also have running water at the camp...same spots as every year. You just need to look at the Area map at the HYPERLINK "http://www.metaldays.net/" http://www.metaldays.net and you will find all information about.

Sorry Bo, but that's just not true. There was one wash stand inside the Pussy Metal group spot previous years - gone this year. Also, there was another one half way from the little hill where BoB camp, to the Hell's Kitchen tent in the camping sector C... it would be right in the middle of our (Trollmean) camping space - also gone this year. Nearest wash stand for entire sectors C & B were by the cold showers, and that had only 6 sinks inside. Imagine carrying a big water keg or barrel halfway through the camp under 35 C...
Also, I'd like an official explanation about the group camping reservations and space assigning fuckup. As I wrote in my separate post, we lost our traditional camping spot (C3 in the old, last year's map) only to see it was taken partly by Pussy Metal and partly by Gladiaporcs, and they filled it maybe to 1/3... the rest was empty grass, while we were cramped inside our little parcel with no space for our members who were arriving at a later date. Not to mention Brothers of Beer's empty football field/car drifting polygon inside their parcel...
As for the loud music and noise, I think 5am is a good time to turn down the volume so even wasted metalhead brothers & sistas coming from the beach bar, partying or le-sexytimes can crash peacefully, without brutal hammerblows inside their heads.

look...write this to domen camp@metalholiday.com and put me in cc. my mail is below.
domen guaranteed that water is was there like every year...fucker..

Look, yes, it is a festival and sure we didnt come there just to sleep but it is not fair, that a group of people that is setted in the woods (! not on the camping car area, as its constantly repeated) put their music so damn loud that they cant even hear themselves. They just have it on because they are drunk and they dont care about anyone else. Sure, when youre wasted like fuck you dont care about music, but not all people like to get wasted so much, that they barely breathe! Nobody wants people to have limitations that they should turn off their music and so, but keep the volume high so its enough for you and it doesnt bother other people. Bringing giant speakers and pumpin up the music so everyone in the range of 300m hears it like the speaker is next to their head is just not cool! + We come to a festival because we like to listen to the BANDS that are LISTED. Like this we are FORCED to listen to whatever shit a certain selfish asshole chooses! We didnt come to a festival to listen to a playlist that some random person set up and likes to play DJ all night long! And again, not to shut up all the music but keep it at a normal volume. And i dont think that the people that want to sleep at night (the majority) should go camping somewhere else, but the people that want to blast their own music and have their own "festival in a festival", they should go somewhere else. Its just plain selfish to act like this, "i wanna blast MY TASTE I MUSIC all night long that is why EVERYONE should listen to it". And btw, some people would still like to be aware about their surroundings when sleeping in a camp so earplugs is a really bad solution as well. And again, i dont mind people yelling all night and running around, sure, have all the fun in the world, but blasting music as loudly as you can, just because you are so wasted and enjoy having a camp well heard and well seen, is not fair.

People in Tolmin say that metalheads that come to the festival are one of the nicest people ever. Why the fuck arent we being more considered towards eachoter? If you see that the majority of the camp is sleeping at 6.00, and your group is the only ones still awake, get your act together, stop being a selfish douche and turn the volume of the music or your generators off.
I can totally relate to that! We had assholes like this last year and to make things worse, they had the most fucked-up playlist that I ever heard. Fortunately this year my camp was more silent.

I think some people here don't understand that this is not about creating an "official sleeping time" on MetalDays, but to ensure that every group can party the way they want and are able to talk to their friends without screaming their throats off...

Sorry for interrupting, I would also like to comment on this whole water thing.

Not letting the people who stand on the sun, watch concerts, move, jump, mosh, headbang on the 40*C heat, mostly in black t-shirt, drink free water is inhuman and cruel.
I understand that you want profit from selling water, and 2 euros for 0.5l of water isn't a horrible price for a festival - but when thinking about how much one needs to drink when partying in a dangerous summer heat, and doesn't want to faint, get dehydrated, it would be a huge expense.
And really, on festivals, with moshing and summer heat I manage to drink 4 liters of water, 8 euros for that would be a super waste... Every day...
It also happens that someone just wants to quickly wash their sweated face between two concerts... Buying bottled water for that is pretty much a loss of money.

So, next to my whining and complaining, I also have a solution for you... Atleast I hope I have. I understand, that you don't want to make the security staff check every single bottle, sniff if it really has only water or alcohol - with thousands of people it would take long and be annoying.
Instead, I would recommend you to let the people carry to the festival area EMPTY BOTTLES (that is easy to check, empty transparent bottle you can see that it is empty), in every size, of course only plastic (so it is not dangerous), and there would be water tap at more places on the festival area, where people could fill their brought-in empty bottles. Or at the festival area sell 1.5l water for affordable price (no, 3x2 = 6 eur for something as basic as WATER is not friendly price), and then those can be refilled, just put enough water taps.

I always jump a lot, sweat, sing fucking loud, so water on festivals has always been a huge problem for me, and I always try to search for solutions... I hope you consider my suggestion, my point is to try to make something good for BOTH visitors and organisers.

Also, about the money: it will come in buying beer, I think you shouldn't worry about that.

Keep up this good, communicative style and the aspiration for improving your festival, you are doing it well!

Do they supply water to those at the front during the music sets? At every festival I have been to the security hand out cups of water to people at the front. They have a bucket of water there. Have also seen fans hosed down from the front in intense heat

Fucking hope not, you'd never get these guys away from the barrier otherwise. Pretty sure in most festivals that the front row doesn't really change. Same sad fuckpigs there all weekend/week.

If I manage, I am also in the front row from the first band to the last, or one of the headliners, and I am very happy

I have to agree! But if other people have more fun in virtually handcuffing themselves to the front-rail for the whole day, they are free to do so... I don't care about standing in the first row anyways

Well, I pay money for seeing the bands, so yeah... Camping with friends&beers can be organised in one of the friends backgardens for free, too... You agree with that, don't you? :) ...And front row because I am short and I want to see everything :) People's hands and heads are not so entertaining :D
Drinking can be done on the main square of the city from bottles of wine, so can socialising, for that I don't need to pay 100 euros. What I pay for is seeing that specific lineup and enjoying the music. Of course, before and after the concerts I am also with people and socialise, but when concerts start, I try to catch my favourites. You must be in good financial situations if you can allow yourself travelling+festival ticket and then just spend the time drinking...  I am not saying you are having the wrong way of fun, or that drinking is less fun than concerts, I also like pub nights with friends myself, and I also drink on festivals, but... you get my point, no?

Well, I can see most of the bands playing all year around at regular indoor-concerts, also near my hometown.
I visit festivals for the overall atmosphere - of course, looking at the bands is part of this atmosphere, but not everything. And MetalDays in special I visit to hang out with other Metalheads at the beach of the Soca river... You can't compare that to your friends' backgarden ;)
