We usually arrive Saturday and happily set up on the campsite up by Hofer.

This year we are considering trying to get a spot in the woods somewhere. Is it actually possible to find space for 5 or 6 tents as late as Saturday? We do have someone going Wednesday but I assume he will struggle to keep enough space?

I always camp in the woods however i struggle even in Friday to find good place there. Especially because of those assholes who tape half woods days upfront for their friends which arrive in sunday/monday.

It's possible to squeeze some tent in the woods in Saturday, but decent space for 5 - 6 tents together? No way ...
Also keep in mind that some people for obvious reasons don't take tapes around woods well and after a lot of complains since last year: http://www.metaldays.net/1011/early-arrival

"Please also note, that those of you, who will arrive to the festival early and buy yourself an Early arrival ticket, can not reserve camping grounds for your friends, who are planning to arrive after Early arrival time! We will remove all tapes or any signs of reserved camping space whatsoever."

Good sleep? With all those french kids around? One can only wish ... :)

On a serious note, your best bet is beginning of the forest. Route from wristbands/camping area C near Slovenian village (check map).

By the way, what do you mean about kids? Is there more kids in shade than in standard areas?

Me and my friends were hoping to camp in the forest but are arriving on the Sunday afternoon so doubt we will have much luck finding any space.

Then again there's not many of us so we might be lucky
