Hey I'm thinking of traveling to MD from my home in Las Vegas and was wondering if anyone knew what the ticket cost in US dollars would be and if I would be able to camp if I'm traveling by myself or would I have to be in a group? Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

dollars and euros are almost the same now a days

try to google for example "150 euros to usd"

today
150 Euros =
172.22025 U.S. dollars

for example we're from finland and usually our total budget for metaldays is around 700e incl. ticket, flights, car rent etc

you can camp however you want - finding a tent spot its not a problem specially if youre alone - theres plenty of nice people who dont mind you being next to them

Ok I'm sold. This is definitely worth a 2000 dollar plane ticket right?

Where are you flying from? You should be looking for a flight to Venice. That is usually by far the cheapest solution for flying in from States.

Thanks. Your very helpful. Then I would just catch a bus or a train to Slovenia from Venice?

Atthegates87 just ignore Lifemocker. It's not worth your time.

Now on the subject matter. It is quite an expense for traveling but if you have the resources most of the people would encourage you to come. The festival is not a typical 3 day, see as many bands as possible, but it's rather also a holiday. I'll admit it can get a bit frustrating if the weather is not the best since a major part of the festival are activities at the beach or the river. But there are also a lot of other sights and things you can do outside the festival area. I think there has to be a reason a lot of people all over the world return each year.

There are people who would tell you for exmaple that 70k of metal is not worth the money, at least if traveling from Europe, but I think sometimes you just have to risk it and see for yourself. Even if you decide it's not worth returning, you experienced something new, and I believe also that counts for something. ;)

no matter in which way you look at the matter - spending ridiculous amount of money just for one week is just not smart unless youre rich person

the only way it makes sense is if youre plan to make a longer travel and visit other places/countries too at the same trip
