Everything is rock'n'roll ;-)

Oh abbath... abbath is persona. Legend. Seeing (I said seeing not hearing! note the difference) him is a must! Once in a life time. But musically... no one goes to abbath show to actually listens him, but to see him. Like said, rock'n'roll! :p

Well I'm still amazed that you like Wolfheart or Swallow the Sun and not The Foreshadowing

Seriously? Two uniqune "one of a kind" bands together in same sentence as uninspiring generic boring sad copy of a copy italian popish goth rock? :o

Well I hope you find something more appealing today with the last announcement.

Yes, yes ... after I wake up I will refresh website every 15 seconds in hope to see some greatness in this last announcement! :P

New announcements:

Heaven Shall Burn - not my cup of a tea, but for some reason I still enjoyed at their energetic MD show two years ago.

Solstafir - nice to see them again

Lik - excited for a moment, but then realized that it's not the real deal (Lekamen Illusionen Kallet) but some other generic dm newbs

The Crawling - their debit remind me a bit on Paradise lost. Nothing inspiring, but well... lets check them live.

Firespawn - another "bloodbath like" project (read: lets put few guys who know their job together and earn some extra cash). bbut.. I like Petrov. I mean who wouldn't like the guy who unexpectedly offered him free beer last time when he was in Ljubljana?

Botanist - Unique messed up BM without guitars. Someting worth to check live!

Greybeards - moaaaaar hippie stuff!!! (oh god... again?)

Nord - excited for a moment, but then realized that it's not the real deal (Nord - ex Frostbite) but just another generic debutant pop rock clones with the same name. I am wondering who put them on a metal festival anyway.

Did I miss something as I am not really into Raven and this other motorhead tribute band?
Short conclusion: crowd will enjoy in Heaven Shall burn, it will be nice to see Solstafir again, Firespawn will hopefully storm the castle, and Botanist are surely something worth to check live, but otherwise nothing exciting.

Well yeah, by doing a multi-genre metal festival it's hard to have everyone happy, especially the die hard 'one genre' fans.

I listen many metal genres but still this years lineup is really weak

I agree however about the stoner/sludge situation. Please I would like to hear your recommendations regarding these bands and I might consider them for future editions. Try to list European bands however as the US are hard to get. Had two US stoner bands almost confirmed but it didn't happen in the end.

we already made lists for boban in this thread....

This forum for now is the only negative feedback I've seen, except for something on social media, where there were some comments copied from this forum. I've seen also there more positive than negative comments...
and we are going in circles here, so I'll stop now.

because the social pressure is that dont say bad about things that bothers you. like you stated in your post as well. I dont mind being "asshole" - dont really care if someone gets upset about facts they dont want to hear

Our whole upcoming MD camp is not happy about lineup.

I disagree,
Iced Earth, Loudness, Amon Amarth, Katatonia, Bloodbath, Opeth, Pain, Abbath, Doro, Sanctuary, Blues Pills.... I won't even mention Manson as you're obviously his hater ;) What's wrong with this lineup?

Those bands tour all the time so theyre nothing special. Everyone have seen them many times - makes em kinda "boring".

And personally I only like AA and Bloodbath of those names.

Shame Goatwhore had to cancel, quite a fun band. And Botanist? Now that was unexpected. I knew they were looking for festivals to play this summer, so it's cool that MD actually had interest in them coz it's not exactly the kind of band I expect to play at such a festival (certainly not catered to the average-MD-goer). I also appreciate the interest MD has in good ol' NWOBHM legends like Raven or Witchfynde, just like Blitzkrieg or Satan previously.

Other than that, nothing worth it. I used to love Sólstafir but the last few years has seen them decline pretty fast (in quality, not popularity). Piss-drunk Abbath trying to play motorhead? Pass. Average DM supergroup? Pass. Smaller bands that offer nothing appealing? Pass (there is already a whole 3rd stage full of those!!!). And so on....

Meh.

PS: concerning a previous comment by Rockster, I find interesting that on this thread, those most vocal against the line-up (him, Lifemocker and me) all have quite different music tastes. This speaks volumes ;)

Nice promotion of your own stage here.

Yes we like Absu, but if that's the best what festival with so many names can offer then you know how poor this offer is. Big stage with pop, rock, hippie crap + some 3rd tier names as decoration is mostly unwatchable, while at small stage among some hippie, rock, jazz, 4th tier thrash bands, etc ... one can find also something interesting. But far from enough to make this lineup appealing.

Look, oh look 3rd tier bands here (2013).
Image

We had candlemass, primordial, unleashed, shining, enslaved... as 3rd TIER BANDS in 2013 and now you're suggesting as the top of the 2017 offer small bands usually in a role supporting those "2013 3rd tier bands" at tours.

Yes, yes.. mgla, batushka, absu would be great addition to awesome line up - if this awesone lineup would actually exist. But there's none. Those few decent 3rd - 4th tier bands actually form peak of the offer at this festival. Pretty sad picture of this festival this year.

In 2013 we were forced to cancel Burning Sea Festival and in order to fulfil our contractual duties towards Artists we added King Diamond, Iced Earth and bunch of bands from Burning Sea Line up to already completed Metaldays Line up. Although you guys had fun with Line up I can just say that 2013 sucked big time from the business point of view and I hope it will never repeat itself.

Yea 2013 was really terrifically good from a visitor point of view.

Question:
With newly added bands there's also news about Goatwhore cancellation, but seeing line up and running order there are also Equilibrium missed. They cancelled too or simply mistake?

This thread reminds me on https://www.adultdvdtalk.com
...where random horny guys complain why she does not take it up her ass while the other one does.
Boobs lovers hate ass lovers and black guys says they are better fuckers than white guys.
At the end all those discussions ends up with a short masturbation.

Eh... So you don't like your audience feedback unless that's praise? Maybe it would be better to let this other (dirty skunks) guy above to deal with PR matters here as with his diplomacy, humour and patience to listen and then elaborate things in calm tone he's way successful in doing this?

Keep in mind that people who post here usually invest some time and effort to elaborate their opinion, not to mention that this is usually feedback of people who actually attend festival, not some random people which only goal here is to talk shit about festival.
If you feel that our only attempt here is to bitch about things please check it again and you may notice numous threads at forum where those same people help newcomers with advices, answer various questions and generally try to be helpful to anyone who come here with anything related to festival.
