I cannot answer about the coach tickets as I fly from England but the food at the festival is fairly typical festival prices, a bit over priced but on the whole reasonable. they are cheaper than British festivals.

There's more than one supermarket (Hofer, Mercator and Eurospin) just off the campsite itself so buying food/drink/supplies during the week is very cheap and easy.

As for the immediate local area, Tolmin Gorge is a short walk away and there is the hill fort with excellent views across the festival site and the rest of the Soca valley.
